Clyde-Arthur Thomas Praet, Jr., age 68, of Haven Drive, died Sunday, April 4, 2004 at his residence.
He was a native of Jersey City, New Jersey having lived in Haywood County since 1987. He was the son of Margaret Federlin Praet of New Jersey and the late Arthur Thomas Praet. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter April Roberts, who died in 1997.
He was a fork lift driver with Lea Manufacturing, retiring in 2001. He attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was a US Air Force veteran having served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the Waynesville VFW Post 5202.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 24 years, Joann Praet of Clyde; three daughters, Bobbi Lee Green of Clyde, Janice Ann Roberts of Waynesville, and Elizabeth Ann Stevens of Marion; two sons, Jon Praet and Allan William ''Billy'' Disbrow, both of New York; seven grandchildren, Joseph Disbrow, Zachary Stevens, Desiree Green, Alex and Kevin Praet, and Chelsey and Hope Roberts.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church. The Reverend Richard Horn and Garry Rogers will officiate. Military services will be conducted at the church by the VFW Post 5202 and American Legion Post 47.
