Arthur Seabury Jr.

Arthur William Seabury Jr., age 69, of 99 Trammell Avenue died Saturday, June 17, 2006, at Memorial Mission Hospital. Art was a native of Brooklyn NY but had lived in Haywood County for the last 15 years. He was the son of the late Arthur William and Catherine Heavey Seabury and was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Pondi. He was retired from the U.S. Marine Corp. with 22 years of active duty and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Joan Barnes Seabury; four daughters, Jodie Newby and her husband, Paul, of Franklin, Sherry Cook and her husband, Charley, of Wilmington, Janet Sharpe and her husband, Rob, of Jacksonville, NC and Rebecca Hatcher of Raleigh; four sons, Ken Finch and his wife, Mary, of Olympia, WA, Bob Finch and his wife, Kathy of Wilmington, Arty Seabury and his wife, Susan, of Wilmington, and Floyd Hatcher and his wife, Lisa, of Madison, NC; a sister, Miriam Shumanski of Key West, FL; a brother, Brian Seabury and his wife, Vickie, of Glendale, AZ; 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a special daughter-in-law, Diana Finch, of Olympia, WA. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 22, 2006, at the residence. Wells Funeral Home of Canton is serving the family.
