Audrey Johnson Lambert, age 86, of Waynesville passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. October 7, was also her 67th wedding anniversary. A native of Hyde County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Elisha Johnson and Clara Bell Weston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. Lambert, who died in 2004 and her two sisters, Frances Forbes and Mal Swindell. Audrey was a loving, caring and giving woman of God. Audrey was a champion for her four kids and their children. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary; Lamba Sigma Alpha National Sorority, and the Daughter of the American Revolution (D.A.R.). She was also involved in the Daily Blessings Ministries here in Waynesville. Audrey is survived by all four of her children. Two daughters Pam Quinn in Clyde and Pat Malcolm in Asheville and two sons Paul Lambert and his wife Fabi in New Orleans and Phil Lambert with his wife Cindy of Edmonds Washington. Audrey is survived by her half-sister Bet Hurd and her friend Aksel of Murphy and her half-brother Elisha (Bob) Johnson III and his wife Marilyn of Gainesville Georgia. Audrey has five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren with one more on the way. She is also survived by her dear friend Allynda Canady who provided friendship and loving care for Audrey for the past seven years. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday October 12, 2014 at the Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville with Pastor Barbara Miller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Following the service, all are welcome to gather at Audrey's home.
