Barbara Alexander

Canton – Barbara Scott Alexander, 80, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at her residence.

A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Bessie Mae Brown Scott.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Doug B. Alexander, who died in 2020.  Barbara retired from Dayco in 1990 with 20 years of service and was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church.

Barbara is survived by two sons, Scott Alexander of Hayesville and Shawn Alexander (Teresa) of Canton; two sisters, Patsy Best and Nancy Price both of Canton; a brother, Billy Scott of Canton; five grandchildren Emily Roberts (Wesley), Kolby Alexander, Hunter Alexander (Chloe), Kayte Leatherwood (Stephen), and Kelsey Alexander; and two great grandchildren, John Lee Leatherwood and Hudsyn Ensley Alexander.

A memorial service will be held 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Long Branch Baptist Church with the Reverend Shane Baker officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m.  prior to the service at the church.
