Barbara Ruth Bean

Barbara Ruth Bean, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on February 14th, 2025, leaving a legacy of devotion to her family and friends. She is now reunited with her beloved son, Dirk Everett Bean; husband, Allen Everett Bean; her parents, Floyd and Laverne Hebron and her sister, Marvis Yutzy. Though she may be gone, her kindness and love will forever echo in the hearts of so many she touched.

Born July 16, 1939, in Cherokee County, Iowa, Barbara dedicated her life to caring for others. She graduated from Boca Ciega High School in St. Petersburg, Florida, and grew into a woman known for her generosity, strength, and unwavering support for those around her. Often thought of as “everyone’s Mom”, Barbara had a rare ability to make everyone feel valued, offering a helping hand not just to family but to anyone in need.

Barbara’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving sons, Christopher Allen Bean and Eric James Bean, along with Eric’s wife, Stacy Bean. Her love and wisdom will live on through her cherished grandchildren, Colby Bean, Ashton Bean, Kai Bean, Ahnastasia Bean and Jeffrey Bean who were fortunate to experience her warmth and guidance. She is also survived by her brother, Steven Hebron; sister, Carol Olsen; brother-in-law, Keith Olsen and her brother-in-law, Merl Yutzy. Her extended family of nieces and nephews carry forward the many lessons of love and generosity she shared throughout her life.

In accordance with Barbara and her family’s wishes, services will be private.

The care of Mrs. Bean and the receiving of flowers is entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville, NC.
