Waynesville-Barbara Glenn Gantt, age 75, of Willow Road, died Thursday, January 27, 2005 at Autumn Care. A native of Farmville, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Issac Cunningham Glenn and Alma Claire Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Melvin "Bob" Gantt, Jr., who died in 1994. She received her BS Degree in Nursing from Medical College of Virginia in Richmond; entered Post Graduate Study in Obstetrics at Ohio State University; entered Anesthesia School at Baylor University Hospital receiving a certification as a nurse anesthetist. She was employed at Roanoke Virginia Memorial Hospital; University of South Carolina Medical Center; Mission Hospital in Asheville; Haywood County Hospital for 14 years; Tabuk Hospital in Saudi Arabia; and the University of Texas Medical Center. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville. She is survived by a brother, Donald T. Glenn, and his wife, Agnes, of Melbourne, FL; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Montgomery VanVoorhees of Denver, CO; two grandsons, John Taylor Gantt and his wife, Rachel, of Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, SD and John Isaas Gantt Striegil of New Tripoli, PA; a step grandson, Casey VanVoorhees of Denver, CO; a great granddaughter, Erin Michiah Gantt of Mitchell, SD; and a great grandson, Aidam Gantt, Mitchell, SD. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2005 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. George Thompson and Reverend Dr. W. Lyn Sorrells officiating. The family will receive friends following the services. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Waynesville, P.O.
