Barbara Ann Green

Barbara Ann Green, 81 of the Bethel Community, passed away on July 15, 2024. She was born on January 26, 1943, and throughout her life, she touched the hearts of many with her kind and gentle spirit. Barbara is reunited in heaven with her parents, John & Geneva Clour, and her husband, Jack Green, Sr. who passed away in 2014.

Barbara dedicated over two decades of her life to Jennings / Sunburst Trout Farm, where she poured her passion into her work.

Barbara will be remembered for her deep love for her family, especially her grandchildren. She had immense joy in spending time with her loved ones and cherished every moment shared with them.

A devoted member of the Old River Baptist Church, Barbara's faith was an integral part of her life. She found comfort, and community within her church family.

In her free time, Barbara indulged in various hobbies and interests such as tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, antiquing, exploring thrift stores and yard sales, as well as immersing herself in the world of books.

Barbara is survived by her sons Jack Green, Jr. and his wife, Terri and Keith Green; sister, Patti Datz; brothers, Everette Clour and Ronald Clour and his wife, Jane; grandchildren Emily Brown (Austin), Zachary Green, and Joshua Green; as well as a precious great-granddaughter Laney Grace who held a special place in her heart and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2024, in the Chapel of Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville with Reverend Nathan Ashe officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to services. Burial will follow the service at Bethel Community Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old River Baptist Church, 5191 Old River Road, Waynesville, NC 28786.

Barbara touched the hearts of many with her kindness, love for others, and unwavering dedication to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and compassion that will be forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
