Barbara Hensley

Barbara Irene Hensley, 83, of Old Fort N.C. died Friday, July 17th2015. A native of Asheville, she was the daughter of the late Albert Franklin and Mary Margaret Sentz Lanning. Barbara was a supervisor at Hamricks Shoe Dept. She was a lifelong member of the Basilica of St. Lawrence.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Raymond Hensley, Jr. and her brother, Gus Werhan Lanning.
Barbara is survived by her children Sandra Anita( Jessie James Jr) Greear, Gail Marie Hensley Rice of Old Fort, Wade Anthony (Mary Jo)Hensley of Fletcher, Mary Ellen(Randy) McDonald, Scott Matthew Hensley of Asheville; Sister, Mary Louise Martin, of Virginia Beach; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 22th from 6 to 8 pm, with a Rosary service at 7pm in the Chapel of Faith, Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn. Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at 2:00PM on Thursday, July 23th at the Basilica of St Lawrence, with the Reverend C. Morris Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler.
