Barbara Jackson

Waynesville, Barbara S. Jackson, 72, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at The Homestead. Barbara was the oldest daughter of David and Edith Stone. In her earlier years, Barbara was a banker and financial counselor. Barbara loved spring time. Many afternoons you could find her tending to her flower garden or her orchids. Her true passion in life was her family and her church. Barbara was an active member of Clyde First Baptist Church. She facilitated generating the newsletter and was also a member of the choir. Barbara is survived by her husband of 45 years, Gary; a son, Eric Jackson and wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Isaac and Ansley Jackson; a sister, Ann Green and husband, Buddy, of Chesney, SC; niece, Dawn Silver and husband, Daryl, of Burnsville; and several nieces and nephews. A very special thank you to Dr. James Weaver, her family doctor for several years, nurses and CNAs at Maggie Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation, and at The Homestead. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Clyde with Reverend Dr. T. David Phillips and Reverend Dr. Michael Leatherwood officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Parking Lot Fund, P.O. Box 356, Clyde, NC 28721.
