Barbara Kimble

Waynesville, Barbara Batchelor Kimble, age 87, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018 at The Homestead.

Barbara was a native of Hughes, Arkansas, she had lived in Haywood County since 1979, moving from Orlando, Florida. She was the daughter of the late James Floyd and Sarah Ruth Austin Batchelor. Barbara attended Georgia Business Institute. She was a Mechanical Contractor in the Construction of Disney World in Orlando, Florida. She was Assistant to the Controller and Payroll Supervisor in the Executive office for the Five Holiday Inns in the Orlando Area and Central Florida. Barbara was Executive Secretary and Manager of the Maggie Valley Chamber of Commerce from 1980-1987. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Maggie Valley and felt very blessed by the love and support of her church family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, William Kimble; two brothers, James and Floyd Batchelor; four sisters, Nell Rhodes, Grace Willard, Allie Ruth Carter and Nancy Sutton.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Becky Suzanne Holley, and her husband, Sherman, of Waynesville; grandson, William E. Kimble; sister, Annette Dickens, of Memphis, Tennessee; brother, Rex Batchelor, and his wife, Patricia, of Milton, Delaware; numerous nieces and nephews.

A private family memorial service is being planned for a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Youth Program's at Maggie Valley First Baptist Church, 4192 Soco Road, and Maggie Valley, NC 28751.
