Barbara Medford

Waynesville, Barbara E. Medford, age 70, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2016 surrounded by her family at The Homestead. Barbara was a Haywood County native born on March 3, 1945 to the late Clifford Stiles and Lovon Gunter Stiles. Barbara was one of five siblings born that included three brothers and a sister. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by two brothers, George Ralph and Billy Stiles, including one daughter Connie Sue Medford and one great-granddaughter, Chloe Kirkpatrick. She was a former employee of Sylco Sewing Plant and Buster Brown. Barbara and her husband, Roy Gene Medford were happily married 54 years and enjoyed their lives together. She is survived by her loving husband, Roy Gene Medford, daughters, Brenda and Heather Medford and a son, Roy D. Medford and daughter-in-law, Cindy, all of Haywood County. She had one brother, Robert Stiles and wife, Peggy, of Waynesville and a sister Joann Medford of Burnette Cove. In addition, Barbara had three grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6–8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 with Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 28 at Hyatt Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Larry Coates and Reverend Randy Bolden officiating. Burial will follow at Red Bank Cemetery.
