Barbara Shuler

Barbara Jean Gaddis Shuler, age 68, died Saturday, September 10, 2005 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Samuel and Harriet Gaddis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilford Shuler who died in 1993 and a sister, Kathleen Gaddis. She was a member of Barberville Baptist Church. She loved her time with Lake Junaluska Assembly, reading and spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Glenda Rathbone of Waynesville and Kathy Smith and her husband, Hallet of Canton; a son, Larry Shuler and his wife, Darlene of Waynesville; a brother, Dewey Gaddis and his wife, Shirley of Waynesville; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Reverend G. W. Jameson officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville. At other times, the family will be at 42 Maloney Court, Waynesville. Memorials may be made to Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund, c/o Salvation Army or the American Red Cross.
