Huntsville, AL, Barbara Jean Tate, age 73, formerly of Clyde, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2013. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Chancy C. and Flora Wynes Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Norman, and one brother, Chancy C. "Bill" Jones, Jr. She graduated from Crabtree Iron Duff High School in Haywood County and was a dedicated employee of Huntsville Manufacturing and Cheeseborough Ponds. She was a loving mother and faithful Christian who enjoyed listening to gospel music. She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda T. Guza, of Huntsville, Alabama; two sons, Larry M. Tate of Waynesville and David Michael Tate, Sr. of Hazel Green, Alabama; five sisters, Carra Lee Haney of Clyde, Ruth Moore of Clyde, Betty Arrington and Nancy Jones, both of Waynesville, and Sarah Hicks of Winston-Salem; one brother, Marion V. Jones, of Clyde; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Park officiating. Burial will follow at Fincher's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
