Barbara Worley

Barbara Ann "Maw" Worley, age 61, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 17, 2010, at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a native of Haywood County and the daughter of Bill and Mary Dell Plemmons Clark. She was a homemaker of which she took much pride in and was a child care provider to many children, whom she loved as her own. She was a faithful member of Zion Hill Baptist Church where she loved to cook for everyone. She was a leader of the Newfound 4-H Club and very involved in community activities, roast beef suppers, livestock shows, and working with youth of all ages. She was known as "Maw" to everyone who loved and knew her. Her greatest love was her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and her family. She touched many lives through her faith, courage, and gift of wonderful cooking. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Larry H. Worley; sons Jeff and his wife, Connie and Tim and his wife, Sonia, all of Leicester; four grandsons, who were her pride and joy, Ty, Tucker, Lane, and Nate Worley; two brothers, Billy Clark and his wife, Connie and Eddie and his wife, Joyce; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Reverend Bobby Smith and Reverend Billy Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Saturday at Zion Hill Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Zion Hill Baptist Church, 1008 Newfound Road, Leicester, NC 28748 or to the Newfound 4-H Club, 1008 Newfound Road, Leicester, NC 28748. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Josephs 10th floor oncology and the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center for their great love and care during her illness.
