Waynesville, Barron B. Clark, age 86, of Mississippi Avenue passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Seymore and Mattie Wright Clark. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Georgia Finger Clark who died in 1965 and five sisters. Barron retired from Dayco as a supervisior with 20 years service and owned the Triangle Store and Laundromat. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII serving on the USS Weeden as a Gunner's Mate Third Class. Barron was a member of Hazelwood Presbyterian Church and a former Deacon. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Reva Bryson Clark; a son, Myron Clark and his wife, Sherri, of Charlotte; one stepson, Mark Conner and his wife, Janice, of Hendersonville; stepdaughter, Donna Conner, of Whittner; two granddaughters, Kristin Clark Parnell and her husband, Bryant, and Sarah Clark; two step grandsons, Dustin Smith and his wife, Lauren, and Clay Smith and his wife, Kristen; and three step great-grandchildren, Hayley, Isaac, and Sawyer Smith. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 28, 2010 at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park with Reverend Larry Wilson officiating. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 5202 and the American Legion Post 47. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
