Benjamin Eidam

November 12, 1932 — August 28, 2003

Lake Junaluska-Benjamin Howard ''Ben'' Eidam, age 70, of 14 Pepper Avenue, died Thursday, August 28, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

A native of Columbus, Georgia, he was the son of the late Benjamin Howard Eidam, Sr. and Wilma Andrews Eidam. He was a graduate of Columbus High School in Columbus, Georgia, and received his Pharmacy Degree from the University of Georgia. He was owner and operator of the Waynesville Pharmacy for 31 years. He was an active member of Clyde Central United Methodist Church and was current Chairman of the Administrative Board, taught the Aldersgate Sunday School Class, and was a member of the choir.

He is survived by his wife, Julia Haren Eidam; two daughters, Janet Nix, and her husband, Allan, of Woodstock, Georgia and Maria Haren Reitan and her husband, Doug, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two sons, Don Eidam and his wife, Susie, of Savannah, Georgia and Tom Haren and his wife, Elizabeth, of Erie, Colorado; a sister, Elissa E. Tidwell and her husband, Walter, of Columbus, Georgia; and six grandchildren, Brittany and Heather Eidam, Cameron Reitan, Brandon Nix, and Michael and Jacob Haren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2003 at Clyde Central United Methodist Church with Reverend Chris Westmoreland and Reverend James Hart officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2003 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
