Bernice Proffitt

Bernice Rice Proffitt, 65, of Asheville, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2012. A native of Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Calvin Edney Rice and Fuschia Chandler Rice. Bernice loved her church, Calvary Baptist and was active in the Sunday School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benny and sister, Betty Sloan.
She is survived by her children, Benny Glenn Proffitt, Jr. and wife, Shannon, Jacqueline Proffitt Willis and husband, Tracy and Christie Molini and husband, Mark; grandchildren, Amanda Proffitt, Laura Taylor, Peyton and Cobie Willis and Sarah Molini; great-grandchildren Inman Searcy and Layla Inman and sisters, Barbara Ponder and Debbie Rice.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, April 3rd at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Tom Sawyer officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler.
