Bertha Blaylock

Bertha Sharp Blaylock, age 72, of Cruso Road died Monday, December 29, 2008, at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Edna Garnes Sharp. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Roy L. Blaylock, who died December 11, 2008. She retired from Dayco with 34 years and worked at Sunburst Trout Farm for 13 years. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Scotty Blaylock and his wife, Laura, of Canton; a sister, Jessie Ledford and her husband, Joe, of Canton; two brothers, Robert Sharp and his wife, Shirley, of Clyde and Roy Sharp and his wife, Jeanelle, of Waynesville; and two granddaughters, Savannah and Emily Blaylock. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 1, 2009, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Perry Brindley officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
