Maggie Valley, Bertha E. Belva Skelton, age 98, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, November 25, 2010. Bertha was born February 22, 1912, she was the fourth child of the late Joseph and Mary Dauby Belva of Springerton, Illinois. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert L. Mitchell and Herbert Skelton; one son, Kenneth J. Mitchell; son-in-law, James W. Rubenacker; sisters, Rosa Dunn and Emma Hanagan; and brothers, Clarence and Narciss Belva. Bertha is survived by two sons, Clarence Mitchell and his wife, Arlene of Normal, Illinois and Carl Mitchell and his wife, Margie, of Carbondale, Illinois; one daughter, Joan Rubenacker of Maggie Valley, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Mike Mitchell of Tomball, Texas, Donna Adams of Waynesville, North Carolina, Karla Floor of Cave Creek, Arizona, David Mitchell of Bloomington, Illinois, Robert Mitchell of Bloomington, Illinois and Nancy Todd of Heyworth, Illinois and ten great grandchildren, Joshua Mitchell, Alyssa Mitchell, Karl Adams, Kevin Adams, Kyle Adams, Sydney Mitchell, Jacob Mitchell, Brandon Floor, Nicholas Floor and Mitchell Todd. The family will receive friends Monday evening, November 29, 2010, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Stendeback Funeral Home in Enfield, Illinois. Rosary will be said at 5:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be conducted Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with burial in the St. Patrick's Church Cemetery. Stendeback Family Funeral Homes in Enfield, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
