Betsy Russell

Maggie Valley, Betsy Ann Russell, age 73, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at The Homestead. A native of Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late Kermit and Clara Mae Smith Cotten. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Russell, who died in 2012; one sister, Frances Chamberlin and one brother, John Reece Cotten. Betsy was a member of Maggie Valley First Baptist Church. Betsy is survived by a sister, Letha Sears, of Holly Springs, North Carolina; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum with Reverend Mike Odom and Reverend Ricky Mason officiating. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Maggie Valley First Baptist Church for their unconditional love over the years.
