Waynesville, Betty Pressley Birchfield, 81, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Memorial Mission Campus.
A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Johnny and Ora Lee Willis Pressley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lee Birchfield who died in 2009; and two brothers, Donnie Pressley and Clyde Pressley.
Betty enjoyed quilting, sewing, traveling and spending time with her family. She was a member of Calvary Road Baptist Church
Betty is survived by her daughters, Darlene Lowe, and her husband, Marty, and Lisa Burgin, and her husband, Boyd; one brother, Wayne Pressley and his wife, Judy; three grandchildren, Mekenzie Lowe Mull and her husband, Steven, Tyler Lowe and Maloree Burgin; two great-grandchildren, Bridger Mull and Finley Mull; and “Sister”, Gloria Justice.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend John Swanger, III, and Reverend Dr. Mark Golden officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Green Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be grandson, Tyler Lowe, and nephews, Peyton Pressel, Connor Pressel, Greg Pressley, Blake Kerby, and Michael Birchfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
The care of Mrs. Birchfield has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
