Betty Bonham

Canton – Betty Sue West Bonham, 90, of the Bethel Community, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.

Betty was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Leroy and Fay Rogers West and sister to the late Charles West of Enka.  Many in the community will remember her from serving hot meals to Pisgah High School students where she worked for many years. She was a fine seamstress and enjoyed sewing for the public following her retirement.

She is survived by a daughter, Myra Scott (Greg) of Canton; one granddaughter, Brittany Worley (Jon) of Leicester.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2021 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Tracy Smith officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery.
