Betty Bormet

Betty Lane Bormet, age 86, died on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at her residence. She was a native of Akron, OH, and also a resident of Laurinburg, NC for 34 years. She was the daughter of the late David and Laura Ross Lane. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Stephen Bormet, who died in 2005; and two sisters, Millie and Jean. She is survived by two sons Jack Bormet and his wife, Ellen, of Laurel Hill, NC and Daniel Bormet of Canton; four daughters, Vanda Ilijevich of Canton, Christina Rozuk and her husband, Robert, of Canton, Mary Allen and her husband, Douglas, of Hickory, and Cathleen Thompson and her husband, Steve, of Canton; a brother-in-law, Ralph Bormet of FL; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2011, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Michael F. Austin officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
