Betty Glance

Clyde, Betty Sue Bryant Glance, age 78, of 41 Oslo Lane, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2010 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late James and Maggie Silvers Burgess. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James "Lefty" Bryant, who died in 1985, and six sisters. Betty loved to cook and quilt. She is survived by three sons, Roger Bryant and his wife, Iris, of Lincoln, North Carolina, Ronnie Bryant and his wife, Jeannell, of Clyde, and Mikey Bryant of Lake Junaluska; one daughter, Joyce Anders, of Union, South Carolina; two sisters, Mary Evans of Waynesville and Berney Mae Messer and her husband, Lee, of Lenoir, North Carolina; one brother, Ernest Burgess also of Lenoir; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 2010 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Ron Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to services.
