Betty Hughes

Betty Jeanne Howard Hughes, 91, of Hendersonville passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015. She was born February 17, 1924, in Cape Haitian, Haiti, the daughter of missionary parents, Melvin and Pearl Antisdel Howard. Betty was an active member of Mills River Seventh-day Adventist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Eugene Hughes; daughter, Juanita Jean (Bo) Carwile of Midlothian, Va., and grandson, Richard (Irma) Seidel.
She is survived by her children, Sharryn Rose (Barry) Mahorney of Morganton, Lynda Varlene (Dave) Seidel of Waynesville, Ohio, and Glen Eugene (Lynn) Hughes of Candler; sister, Ruth Howard Brass Keltner of St. Petersburg, Fla., 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, April 11, in the Chapel of Faith, Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn with Pastor Barry Mahorney officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mills River Seventh-day Adventist Church, School Building Fund, 2142 Jeffress Rd, Mills River, NC 28759.
