Betty Jones

Waynesville, Betty Sue Jones, age 65, of 169 Walnut Valley Lane, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Mission Hospital. A native of Newport, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Dorothy Ellison Phillips. Betty was a loving mother and family caregiver, who loved the holidays and especially enjoyed cooking for her grandson. She also enjoyed spending time at home tending to the roses and lilies in her flower garden. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, John Jones; a son, Wayne Jones and his wife, Lana, of Waynesville; three sisters, Loretta Phillips and Carl Lowman of Rhodhiss, NC, Barbara Conger and her husband, Larry, of Hildebran, NC and Kathy Ledford and her husband, Reverend Roger Ledford of Vale, NC and one grandson, Zachary Jones. Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2013 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Deacon Larry Conger and Reverend Roger Ledford officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:30 prior to services at the funeral home.
