Betty King

Clyde, Betty Francis Parton King, 79, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015 at The Homestead. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Merritt C. and Hattie Tucker Parton and was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Betty worked as a CNA at Britthaven of Clyde for 25 years, retiring in 1999. Betty is survived by two sons, Kelvin King and wife, Wendy, of Clyde and Lewis Wayne King of Canton; two sisters, Margaret James and husband, Phil of the Jonathan Creek Community and Louise Messer of Maggie Valley; five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 7, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Donnie Henson officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
