Betty Parham Caldwell

Betty Parham Caldwell, a dedicated worker and devoted member of her church, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023, at her residence. She was born on August 24, 1937, in Buncombe County.

Betty had an impressive career that spanned many years. She worked at BASF-Enka and Champion International as a machine operator before retiring. Her commitment and hard work were evident throughout her tenure at both companies.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Betty was known for her active involvement in the religious community. She was a valued member of Barberville Baptist Church initially and later became a member of Allens Creek Baptist Church. 

Betty was preceded in death by her father, Reverend Otto Parham, mother Minnie Edmonds, and husband William "Bill" Caldwell in 1988. She also mourned the loss of two sisters: Viola Stuart and Connie Mae Jenkins, as well as three brothers: Bill, Jim, and Oscar Parham.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Sherrill Lynn Connor Cooper and son-in-law Desmond Lee Cooper; her son, David Eugene Connor Jr.; granddaughter Amber Lynn Rhinehart (Justin); and two great-grandchildren, Cooper and Caroline Rhinehart.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Green Hill Cemetery located in Waynesville, NC. 

 

The care of Mrs. Caldwell has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
