Betty Lou Lowery, 86, of Candler passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021, at Emerald Ridge Rehabilitation and Care Center.

A native of Buncombe County, she was daughter of the late Belton and Carrie Harris Pressley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Favis Lowery and a son, Michael Lowery.

Betty Lou enjoyed fishing with her husband, Favis and taking care of her family.  She was the cook at Sand Hill Elementary for thirteen years and a longtime member of Pole Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Phillip and his wife, Sherry of Candler; sister, Barbara Jo; brother Bill; three grandchildren, Brandon, Justin, and Jacob and four great-grandchildren, Haven, Delilah, Emma and Ellis.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Candler with Reverend Dennis Thurman officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home of Candler prior to the service.

The care of Mrs. Lowery has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
