Betty H. McCall

Betty H. McCall (Wa-wa) passed away on June 27, 2024, at the age of 97.

Betty was a long-time resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late John and Ann Abernethy and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Charles B. McCall.

Betty worked at Tuscola High School for 30 years as Guidance Secretary, was a member of First United Methodist Church, Waynesville and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. 

She is survived by one daughter, Kitty Ann Hampton, granddaughter Amber Hampton (Chris) and great grandson Jase Beim, grandson Kelly Hampton, and great grandson Madden Hampton. 

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Reverend Keith Turman and Reverend Terry Bevill officiating. 

The family will receive guests immediately following the service at the McCall Home, 1004 Brown Ave, Waynesville.
