Betty Fincher McFalls, age 78, died Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at the Elizabeth House A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Wallace Fincher and Cora Mae Putman Pilkington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Jean Beasley, Glenda Gail Murray, Myrna Dale Trull, Bobbie Pilkington, and Nita Sue Dail. Betty retired from Dayco International with 30 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith and her hobbies included flea marketing, camping and traveling. She is survived by her husband, James McFalls, Jr.; one son, Dudley McFalls and his wife, Clara, of Canton; one daughter, Mitzi Lanning of Hendersonville; two sisters, Maribelle Williams of Bethel and Alice Pilkey of Tennessee; one brother, Jimmy Pilkington of Kentucky; two granddaughters, Daphne McFalls and Holly Milanese; and four great-grandchildren, Katy and Kolby Pressley, Claire Ayala, and Lucas Milanese. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Morning Star Cemetery with Reverend Wayne Carson officiating. Wells Funeral Home of Canton is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in memory of Betty McFalls to the Elizabeth House, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
