Betty Moody

Clyde, Betty Ferguson Moody, 87, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Memorial Mission Hospital.

A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Ida Mae McElroy Ferguson and was also preceded in death by her husband, James E. Moody, who died in 2006; two brothers, John and Charles Ferguson; and two sisters, Sara Lee Green and Bennie Underwood. Betty loved to square dance with her husband, loved spending time with her family and just enjoyed making people smile. She was a member of Crabtree United Methodist Church.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Jamie Magalhaes (Joe) of Waynesville, Leslie Hagey (Phil) of Charlotte; six sisters, Margaret Williams, Helen Davis (Lawrence ), Ruth Presnell, Maxine Bradshaw (Jimmy), Irene Noland (Joe), Annette Best (Jimmy); a brother, Carlyle Ferguson (Marie); four grandchildren, Blake Magalhaes, Warren Stevens (Stacey), Jennifer Farnsworth (Bill) and Christy Hagey; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Crabtree United Methodist Church with Pastor Sara Scruggs and Pastor Terry Rowland officiating. Burial will follow at Dawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
