Clyde-Betty Sue Early Smith, age, 53, of 83 Fairhaven Street, died Saturday, July 12, 2003 at her residence after an extended illness.
She was a native and life long resident of Haywood County. She was the daughter of the late Troy and Ruby Lee Moore Early. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Dawn Gaddis, who died in 1977. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. She was a former R.E.A.C.H. volunteer, having won the Governor's Achievement Award.
She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Ronnie Smith; one daughter, Jennifer Leigh Maynor and her husband Eddie of Balsam; two sons, Steven Gaddis and his wife Sheila of Waynesville and Richard Alan Gaddis and his wife Christy of Waynesville; her step-mother, Violet Marie Early of Clyde; a sister, Jessie Clark of Canton; two brothers, Buddy Early of Waynesville and Leon Early of Ocala, Florida; a step-brother, Clarence Sexton of Canton; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes. Reverend Kenneth Rhinehart will officiate. Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2003 at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
The pallbearers will be Tim Allen, Harold Parrott, Clarence Sexton, Dale Russell, Wayne Crowe and Tony Thomas.
