Betty Winchester

Waynesville, Betty Lee Brown Winchester, age 74, died on Thursday, December 24, 2009 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. Betty was born in Baltimore, Maryland lived most of her life in Catonsville, MD and moved to Haywood County where she resided for the past 17 years. She was the daughter of the late Burleigh and Matilda Rada Brown. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon L.Winchester who died in January 2009. Betty had been active in the Guardian Adlidem program and was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Judith Lippert and her husband, Lloyd, of Manassas, VA; and Sharon Hastings, of Waynesville; two sons, Richard Winchester, of Salisbury, MD and Robert Vernon Winchester and his wife, Joanna, of Odenton, MD; one sister, Donna LaVoy and her husband, Mark, of Virginia Beach, VA; four grandchildren, Erica Engelstad, Amanda Winchester, Michael Shields and Kyle Hastings and one great granddaughter, Alexandra Hastings. No services are scheduled at this time. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
