Beulah Emery

Beulah Mae Bates Emery, age 86, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the home of her daughter. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Avon and Mella Cody Bates. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Horace Emery, who died in 1983; and a daughter, Brenda Gayle Dickerson Jacobs, who died in 2010. Beulah retired, in 1990, from Kellwood Company with 42 years of service and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 891 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Peek and her husband, Bryan, of Hendersonville; one son, Van A. Dickerson, Jr. of Fletcher; one sister, Peggy Johnston of Asheville; one brother, Carroll Bates of Asheville; and three grandchildren, Daniel and Jonathan Jacobs, and Nathan Peek. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Reeves Chapel United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
