Maggie Valley, Beverly Bell "Bev" Sizemore, age, 70, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2008. Born orn in Mecklenburg County, she was the daughter of Frances Kelley Bell of Maggie Valley and the late Walter Frankland Bell. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Maurice Bell. Beverly was a graduate of Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing. She was a former resident of Winston Salem, working as a registered nurse at NC Baptist Hospital and Wake Forest University Student Health. Following retirement to Topsail Island, she and her husband moved to Maggie Valley in 2002 and owned and operated Homes and Hideaways, Inc. She enjoyed growing flowers and plants, reading, and traveling. Mrs. Sizemore was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Waynesville. Surviving in addition to her mother, her husband of 51 years, James Otis Sizemore, Jr.; three daughters, Melanie Schultz and her husband, Mark, of Greensboro, NC, Shannon Templeton, and her husband, Keith, of Raleigh, NC, Margaret Leonard, and her husband, Ronnie, of Lexington, NC; one son, James Otis Sizemore III, and his wife, Robin, of High Point, NC; and nine grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be observed at First Presbyterian Church of Waynesville at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2009 with Reverend John Lindsey officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriner's Hospitals, c/o Oasis Shrine, 604 Doug Mayes Place, Charlotte, NC 27205, or to a charity of one's choice. Her kind and gentle nature will be missed by the many friends and relatives who knew and loved her.
