Billie Rickman

Willa Mae "Billie" Rickman, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Harley and Bertha Cook Morgan. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Carroll Rickman, who died in 2011; a granddaughter, Ericka Cook Gaddy; two sisters, Eula Haynes and Nancy Vaughn; and three brothers, Jim, Joe, and Buddy Morgan. She was a dedicated member of Canton First Baptist Church. Billie enjoyed weaving, crocheting, and sewing. Billie had an unmistakable smile and never met a stranger. She loved fellowshipping over a nice meal but most importantly spending time with her family. She is survived by two daughters, Patsy Cook and her husband, Phil, of Canton and Melissa Rickman of Clyde; a son, Michael Rickman of Atlanta, Georgia; a granddaughter, Amy Cook; six great-grandchildren, Emily, Cade, Shae, Haley, Carrigan, and Brody; and several beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2014 at Canton First Baptist Church with the Reverend Jay Meadows officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service in the fellowship hall of the church. The family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation to Silver Bluff Nursing Home for the love and care Billie received there.
