Waynesville

Waynesville – Charles Billy Allison, beloved son, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away on September 26, 2022, at Autumn Care of Waynesville.

Billy was a native of Haywood County and son to the late Jack and Eula Noland Allison.  A life-long farmer, Billy found great joy in cultivating land and raising cattle.  The values that the land taught helped to influence both Billy and his entire family.  His passion and commitment were also demonstrated in his love for those closest to him.  Billy adored his family, and when it came to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his heart beamed with pride.  In his youth, Billy proudly served his country during the Korean War as an Army Military Police officer, and later retired from Dayco Corporation.  He was also a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Waynesville.

Billy is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Nina Frazier Allison; two daughters, Cindy Cogdill, and her husband, Larry and Grey Ross, and her husband, Terry; one brother, Neal Allison; four grandchildren, Adam Cogdill, Micah Cogdill, Lauren Teague (Ryan), Elizabeth Vandenberg (André); and a full quiver of great-grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park with Pastor Joshlyn Teague and Reverend Dr. Robert Prince officiating.
