Bishop Anders

Waynesville, Bishop James C. Anders, passed away on Friday, May 28 2010 at Huntsville Hospital in Alabama. He was a native of Virginia and had resided in North Carolina, Alabama and Georgia. He was the son of the late Clarence and Ether Lowe Anders and was also preceded in death by brothers Dicky and Donald Anders. He was a Bishop with The Church of God and had pastored from 1969 until 1993 at The Church of God of Prophecy and from 1993 until his death with The Church of God in several locations and was the State Overseer for NC, VA, SC and AL. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Peggy Anders; his children, Jan Wilkienson and her husband Rickey of Morganton, NC, James M. Anders of High Point, NC, Mark Anders and his wife Denise of Clyde, NC, Allison Bolton and her husband John of Creedmoor, NC; three sisters, Betty Witty and her husband Troy of Reidsville, NC, Delores Pulliam and her husband Vernon of Catawba, VA, Deborah Perkins and her husband Danny of Reidsville, NC; three brothers, Allen Anders and his wife Bonnie of Reidsville, NC, Harvey Anders and his wife Cindy of Cleveland, TN , Jeffrey Anders and his wife T. C. of Reidsville, NC, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday night at the funeral home.
