Blanche Brown

September 4, 1913 — January 19, 2007

Waynesville-Blanche Elizabeth King Brown, age 93, formerly of Hospital Drive died on Friday, January 19, 2007 at the Brian Center. A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Ed and Gertrude Aldridge King. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank I. Brown, who died in 1983; a son, Jerry Brown; one sister; and two brothers. As a member of First Baptist Church of Lake Junaluska, she was also very involved in the building of the church. Blanche was a Hospice volunteer and enjoyed sewing, working puzzles, and cooking for her family. She is survived by three sons, Mark Brown of Candler, Doyle Brown and his wife, Arlene, of the Crabtree Community, and Jack Brown and his wife, Eva, of Clyde; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Brown, of Lynwood, WA; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2007 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend James Huey and Reverend Karl Zielke officiating. Entombment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Lake Junaluska, 154 Sunset Ridge Road, Clyde, NC 28721.
