Blanche Payne Mathis

In loving memory of Blanche Payne Mathis of Candler. Mrs. Mathis passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Mission Hospital in Buncombe County, North Carolina.

Mrs. Mathis was a bakery manager for Bi-Lo and Ingles grocery stores. Her love for baking transcended the walls of the stores she managed; it touched the hearts of all who knew her. 

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Francis and Mary Hill Payne, as well as her dear brother, Howard William Payne. Although she has left this world, her legacy lives on through the memories she shared with those fortunate enough to have known her.

Mrs. Mathis is survived by her beloved husband of 24 years, David Mathis. She also leaves behind her brother, Glenn Payne and his wife Ruth; and her niece, Debra Chambers.

No formal services are planned.

Today we celebrate a life lived to the fullest and a heart that touched so many. Her spirit will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have been part of her journey. May she rest in peace knowing that she was cherished beyond measure.
