Waynesville, Blanche Plemmons, age 66, of Hampton Court, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at MedWest Haywood. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late William and Geneva Messer Ledford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Eilene Coward and two brothers, Earl and Ralph Ledford. Blanche retired from Champion Paper with 25 years service and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, canning and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, James Plemmons, a daughter, Patricia Plemmons; two sons, Jim Plemmons and Gary Plemmons (Christy) all of Waynesville; two sisters, Helen Ledford and Joyce Reece both of Waynesville; two brothers, Troy Ledford of Franklin and Ray Ledford of Hazelwood; two granddaughters, Kara Ammons and Morgan Plemmons and one great-grandchild, Braxxton Ammons-Conard. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Nelson and Pastor Jeff Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Plott-Saunook Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Robbie and Danny Reece, Tommy and Dalton Moore, Nathan Conard and Danny Hooper. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
