Waynesville, Blanche Evelyn Chapman Reeves, age 74, of 106 Long Street, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2013 at MedWest. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Verna Medford Chapman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Reeves, who died in 1999; a sister, Shirley Hawkins; and one brother, Gerald Chapman. Blanche retired from Dayco with 29 years of service having worked in the Shipping Department and was of the Baptist faith. A gentle and kind nurturer who lived for her family, she was a fantastic cook and would gladly share her recipes. When she wasn't cooking for others, she was enjoying the surrounding beauty of the mountains, reading, and shopping. She is survived by two daughters Terri Rogers and her husband, Doug, of Canton, and Lisa Dyson and her husband, Keith, of Waynesville; a son, Anthony Reeves, of Washington, DC; three grandchildren, Jennifer Dyson, Kacie Olsson, and Noah Rogers; and her dog and faithful companion, Chloe. A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2013 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Susan Giles officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 4:00 p.m. on Monday prior to services at the funeral home.
