Waynesville-Blanche Mary Dixon Suttles, age 88, went home to be with the Lord Friday, November 24, 2006 at her residence. She was a native of Spartanburg, South Carolina and lived in the Meadowfork Community of Madison County before moving to Haywood County where she lived most of her life. She was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Mattie Lynch Dixon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Suttles, who died in 2000; a son, Wayne Suttles, a grandson, Bill Suttles and nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Suttles Hendrix and her husband, Roger of Waynesville, a son, Bobby Suttles and his wife, Bobbie also of Waynesville; two brothers, Jack Dixon and his wife, Cheryl of Maddington, West Virginia, and Jimmy Dixon of Wooster, Ohio; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Suttles was employed by Wellco Corporation and was a member of Lake Junaluska First Baptist Church. She loved flowers and enjoyed tending to her garden and was also an excellent cook. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 27, 2006 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Huey officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be held in the Keenerville Christian Church Cemetery following the service. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Clark, T.R. Clark, Chad Shelton, Jimmy Sorrells, Steve Milner, A.J. Plemmons, Jacky Webb and W.O. Suttles. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 262 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721 or Lake Junaluska First Baptist Church, 154 Sunset Ridge Road, Clyde, NC 28721.
