Blon Grogan

Blon Neal Grogan, age 90, died Saturday, August 22, 2008, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Towns County, GA, she had resided in Haywood County for 75 years and was the daughter of the late Thomas Norris and Callie Kimsey Neal. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Grogan, who died in 2000; a grandson, Jeffrey Queen; an infant son; three brothers; and a sister. She was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. Blon was a great cook, her family loved her "Mamaw Burgers" and pancakes. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a loving mother to more than just her family. Blon loved the mountains of WNC. She is survived by two daughters, Annette Robinson and Jannette Coriarty both of Waynesville; two sisters, Alice Donaldson of Waynesville and Nell Thompson of Asheville; two brothers, Charles Neal of Waynesville and Bill Neal of Franklin; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Bruce Cayton and Reverend Brad Joyner officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
