Bobby Mehaffey

Waynesville, Bobby Eugene Mehaffey, age 77, of Nottingham Lane, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2014. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late John and Blanche Hendrix Mehaffey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marcene Lowe Mehaffey and a brother, Wade Mehaffey. A US Navy veteran, he was employed at First Baptist Church of Waynesville, where he was also a member. Bobby enjoyed his job and loved all the children in the church's child development program. Bobby is survived by a daughter, Lynne Teetzel and her husband, Mickey; a brother, B. J. Mehaffey; and a grandson, Andrew Teetzel, all of Waynesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in the chapel of First Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Robert Prince, III officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
