Bobby Lynn Stephenson, Sr.

Bobby Lynn Stephenson, Sr. was born on August 12, 1938, in Haywood County, North Carolina, and peacefully passed away at his residence on September 3, 2024. Bobby was the son of the late William Thomas and Nannie Howard Stephenson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Brown and JoAnn Frederickson. 

A cherished member of the community, Bobby devoted over 35 years to his career as the owner and operator of Bob's Mobile Home Moving, where his dedication and hard work earned him the respect and admiration of many. Bobby was a man of many interests outside of his professional life. He relished the time spent camping at Cade's Cove, creating lasting memories with his friends and family. He had a passion for hunting that he shared with his son in the beautiful state of West Virginia. Additionally, Bobby enjoyed traveling across the United States with his beloved wife, embracing the adventures and experiences that life had to offer. Bobby was also a dedicated member of White Rock Baptist Church where he attended for over 40 years. 

Bobby leaves behind a loving family who will honor his memory. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Katherine Stephenson, of Candler; daughter, Darlene Stephenson of Candler; and his son, Bobby Stephenson, Jr. and his wife, Trish, also of Candler. He was a proud grandfather to Jason Ross and Dylan Stephenson, and he was blessed with ten great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at White Rock Baptist Church at 20 White Rock Church Road, Candler, NC 28715 with Pastor Allen Rash and Pastor Brad Parker officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the church. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The care of Mr. Stephenson has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
