Bonnie Donaldson

December 19, 1917 — January 21, 2014

Bonnie Burnette Grooms Donaldson, 96, of Asheville, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 21, 2014. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Elbert and Maybelle Clontz Burnett. She was a longtime member of Good News Baptist Church and loved fishing, gardening and quilting.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Orville Wayne Grooms and brother, Dewey Burnette.
Bonnie is survived by her sons, Roger Grooms and his wife, Nancy, Jerry Grooms and Alvin Lane Grooms; grandchildren, Randy Grooms, Robin Hanson and Lewie Grooms; great grandson, Lucas Grooms; step-children of Roger and Nancy, Louise and Boyd Clemmons, Dane and Moe Burnett and Allen and Linda Clemmons and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, January 25th at Good News Baptist Church, Candler with Rev. Steve Smith and Rev. Claude Surrette officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the church from 11:00AM until the service. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery in Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Good News Baptist Church, PO Box 241, Candler NC 28715.
