Bonnie Scott

Canton – Bonnie Woody Scott, 94, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at CarePartners Hospice in Asheville.

A native of Greenbriar, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Sarah Gibson Woody.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Calvin C. Scott, who died in 2012; a son-in-law, Harold Clay Pilkington, who died in 2009; step-sister, Regina Bullen; two step-brothers, Venson Woody and Barney Woody.  Bonnie was a former employee American Silk Label and Canton Laundry.  She enjoyed gardening and growing her flowers as well as canning.

She is survived by a daughter, Peggy Pilkington and her fiancée, Darrell Sorrells of Canton; brother-in-law, Clay Scott; and a Yorkshire Terrier granddog, “George”.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 3, 2021 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Gene Worley officiating.  Burial will follow at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Due COVID-19, the wearing of masks and social distancing will be observed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials, may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
