Bracy Deese

Bracy Deese, age 73, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2011, at his residence. A native of Robeson County, he was a son of the late William Hester and Margie Haywood Deese. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers; Russell, Willie, and Buddy Deese; and one sister; Katie Kinnunen. Bracy retired from Champion International with 23 years of service. He loved cooking gravy at Beulah Baptist Church where he was a member. Bracy loved hunting, fishing, and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judith Smith Deese; two sons, Rick Deese and his wife, Susan, of New York and Ken Deese of Canton; one daughter, Debra Stevenson of Chapel Hill; three brothers, Richard Deese of Nashville, TN, Mike Deese of Canton, and Billy Deese of Nashville, TN; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 13, 2011 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Barry Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Brotherhood at Beulah Baptist Church, 483 Sunset Circle, Canton, NC 28716.
